The Cancer Research Center, Institute for Medical Research (IMR) is actively in the process of establishing a Biospecimen Bank for the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. We are in need of suitable candidates to carry out the operations of this establishment.
Requirements:
-BSc or equivalent with CGPA of 3.5 and above / Master’s Degree in Science related field
(Biotechnology, Biomedical, Molecular Biology or other related fields)
-Master’s Degree students who are waiting for viva voce are encouraged to apply
-Interested in pursuing higher degree
-Experienced in patient clinical data entry and working with registries
Worked with human biospecimens for molecular studies or relevant research
Competent with computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and other relevant softwares)
-Interested in biobanking activities
-Knowledge in molecular epidemiology is an added advantage
-Able to speak in English and Malay fluently
-Malaysian citizen
-Possess your own transport (car preferred)
-Must be willing to travel often and confident to converse with clinicians, researchers and patients
-Willing to work in KL
-Able to start working by middle of May or early of June
Job Specifications:
-Data entry and barcoding
-Travel to different hospitals for specimen collections
-Specimen processing and storage
-RNA/DNA/Protein Extraction
-Visit clinicians, researchers and patients
-Conduct research using human specimens
-Evaluation of kits, reagents and analytical instruments
-Administrative processes
